After
working as a Social Worker for years, Sheryl Mallory-Johnson decided to pursue her
true purpose and passion – writing.
Sheryl began her writing career as a screenwriter and was ultimately led to writing novels. Her endeavor didn't come easy. Taking a series of writing courses, attending writers workshops and leaning on her lifelong love of literature, Sheryl Mallory-Johnson became a true novelist.
Sheryl's main focus is relationships stories, all facets. Why write about relationships? Because Sheryl is obsessed with understanding why we do what we do in relationships. She uses the
contemporary fiction world as her canvas (and playground) to write
true-to-life, suspenseful, heartfelt stories about relationships and all they entail – the good,
bad, ugly, beautiful and everything in between. While fiction is her space, the characters Sheryl creates are real, multidimensional, diverse and
collectively reflect a rich mosaic of the African-American experience.
When Sheryl isn't weaving a riveting tale, she is mentoring young adults, enjoying time with family and friends, or simply enjoying life. Along with being a full-time novelist, Sheryl also works as a Adjunct Professor and provides book coaching and novel writing services to aspiring authors.
Sheryl Mallory-Johnson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She holds a Bachelor's
Degree in Business Administration from Texas Southern University and a
Master's Degree in Social Work from San Diego State University.
Sheryl continues to reside in California with her family and is always working on her next page-turning novel.
